Information collected
When you sign up, The Handy Plan collects your name, email, phone number, and service address. Visit requests may include a task description and photos you choose to attach. Messages sent through the in-app Messages feature are stored so the conversation history is available to both parties.
Payment information
Card payments are processed by Stripe. The Handy Plan never receives or stores your full card number — only the card brand, last 4 digits, and expiration date, as needed to show what's on file.
How information is used
Your information is used to schedule and complete visits, process payment for completed work, send account and visit-related emails (confirmations, reminders, receipts), and respond to messages. It is not used for advertising and is not sold to third parties.
Transactional emails (signup, visit updates, receipts, password resets, messages) are sent via Resend. These are tied to your account activity, not marketing.
Data sharing
Information is shared only with the service providers needed to run The Handy Plan — Stripe for payments, Resend for email, and Vercel/Neon for hosting and data storage — and never sold or shared for advertising purposes.
Data retention & your rights
Account and visit history is retained for as long as your account is active, to keep an accurate service record. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data at any time by sending a message through your account or emailing thehandyplan@gmail.com.
Security
Passwords are stored as salted hashes, never in plain text. Password reset links are single-use and expire after one hour.
Cookies
The Handy Plan uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Children's privacy
The Handy Plan is not directed at children and is not knowingly used by anyone under 18.

This policy may be updated from time to time; the "last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision.
